County Clerk or Private Officiant

It can be a little confusing when deciding to get married at the Santa Barbara Courthouse. The courthouse is both a public park and a government office.

You can get married there by either hiring your own private officiant and performing the ceremony at one of the designated free spots or schedule an appointment with the county clerk to perform your ceremony.

Here are pros and cons when deciding to choose between the two options.
